Marie O. Conley, 87, of Austin passed away August 22, 2010 in Austin, Texas. She was born January 25, 1923 in Dripping Springs, Texas. She had lived in Austin since 1961 and retired as a supervisor for the State School in Austin. She was a member of Highland Village Church of Christ. Marie was preceded in death by her son and a grandson.

Gladys Catherine Shelton, born November 21, 1917 passed away August 22, 2010 in Kerrville, Texas. She was one of 13 children born to Peter and Catherine Smola of Belchertown, Massachusetts. Gladys graduated as a registered nurse in 1939 from Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. She worked in their operating room until she entered the Army in January 1942.
James L. Homer, Jr., 76, passed away August 24, 2010 in Austin, TX. He was born in Galveston, TX to James L. Homer, Sr. and Lucille Outlaw Homer. Mr. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Nancy Homer and infant son, Nicholas Homer. Mary Alice Barker passed away on August 20, 2010 at the Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco, Texas at the age of 96. She was born on June 13, 1914 in Anson, Texas to Cliff and Birdie Tarver. Minnie Paula Hoffmann Gass of Spring Branch, Texas passed away on August 18, 2010 in the Eden Hill in New Braunfels. She was born September 10, 1915 in San Antonio to Levine G. and Paula Classen Hoffmann. She was 94, lacking 23 days being 95 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Frederick Gass and her sister, Johanna Catherine Reeh.

Errol (Boysie) Maenius, 57, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and was always very brave and strong. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. Preceded in death by his father, Werner Maenius.

Ruby Lee Jones, 90, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010. Ruby was born February 18, 1920 to Joe and Rosa Preiss in New Braunfels, Texas. She married Casey Jones on May 27, 1941; they enjoyed 45 years together until his passing in 1986. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Bennie Carroll Jones; brother Hilmer Preiss, Sr.; and sister Rose Marie Dean.

Fred J. Floerke, 84, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2010 from a brief illness. He was born in a small farmhouse between Sinton and Taft on September 22, 1925. He graduated from Taft High School, and then graduated from Saint Mary’s University. Fred was a lifetime farmer and rancher. Farming was his true passion; therefore, he served many years on Midways Board of Directors.

Ruby Lee Jones, originally of Blanco, Texas, passed away at the age of 90 in her home east of Tucumcari, New Mexico, on Thursday, July 15, 2010. She lived in Blanco for 75 years before moving to Tucumcari, NM with her daughter, Beverly and family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Del Choate of Tucumcari, NM, granddaughter Jennifer Zachary and husband Miles of Canyon, TX, and grandson, Roland Del Choate.
