The Blanco Softball team defeated the Ozona Lions 17-3 to claim the Bi-district championship this past Thursday. Sarah Isenberg was pitching for the Panthers facing 22 batters ; striking out 4,and allowing 3 runs on 2 hits.

How do you celebrate after just playing your friends? On Tuesday, April 22, the two Major League girls softball teams from Blanco played one another. The Queens of Swing beat the Angels with Attitude in a close game that ended 8-6.

After starting the season 0 and 4, and just one year from a third place finish in the district, the Blanco Panther Junior Varsity Baseball Team is back on top having won the District 8-AA Championship. For the season, the Panthers finished on a roll having won 11 of their final 12 games to finish the year 11 and 5. As a team, the Panthers’ pitching staff was credited with 5 shut-outs, while offensively the team run ruled 5 opponents and scored 20 or more runs in a game 3 times.

April 23, 2008

The Panthers rallied from behind to beat the Bobcats last Friday night 8-5. Trailing 3-1 going into the third inning, Blanco exploded for seven runs.

On Saturday, April 19, the Blanco Major League girls softball team played against the Johnson City team number two in Johnson City. The Blanco team, The Angels with Attitude, beat the Johnson City team with a score of 28-8. The mid-point of the season has been reached and the Angels season record is 4-2.

The Blanco Panther Athletic Department added Golf to thier agends this year. While it bing only the first year there was a good turn out for the teams. Coach Scott Balmos coached the golf teams.

Middle School Tennis results from Friday and Saturdays meet last weekend in Kerrville. Kelsey Schwind took second place in the seventh grade girls singles.

The Blanco Panther Softball team finished second in district play. Blanco finished with a 5-3 district record, and a 16-11 overall record in regular season play.
