Application has been made with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission for a Mixed Beverage Permit by Stargazers Entertainment, LLC d/b/a Texas Iron Horse Saloon, located at 621 Chandler Street, Blanco, Blanco County, Texas. BLANCO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT will receive sealed bids for the sale of (2) (71) passenger school buses and (2) handicap school buses until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008. PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT FOR MANAGEMENT SERVICES The City of Blanco has recently received a contract award from the Office of Rural Community Affairs (ORCA) for sewer system improvements. Accordingly, the City is seeking to contract with a qualified management consultant/firm to carry out several aspects of overall program management required by the City for implementation of the Texas Community Development Program. Please submit your proposal of services, a statement of qualifications, and a proposed cost schedule for each area of the scope of work to the City of Blanco, P.O. Box 750, Blanco, Texas, 78606. Proposals must be received by the City no later than 4:00 p.m., August 4, 2008 to be considered. The City reserves the right to negotiate with any and all management consultants or firms that submit proposals, per the Texas Professional Services Procurement Act and the Uniform Grant and Contract Management Standards. NOTICE OF INTENT TO SELL FACILITIES AND TRANSFER THE CERTIFICATE OF CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY (CCN) OF CARDINAL VALLEY WATER COMPANY, INC. TO AQUA UTILITIES, INC. DBA AQUA TEXAS, INC. AND TO AMEND A CCN IN BLANCO AND HAYS COUNTIES, TEXAS Date Notice Mailed: July 11, 2008 Gentlemen: Seller’s or Transferor’s Name-Cardinal Valley Water Company, Inc., Address-1012 Sturgeon Point Road, City-Derby, State-New York, Zip Code-14047 has submitted an application with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to sell facilities and to transfer a CCN to provide water utility service in Blanco and Hays Counties to: Purchaser’s or Transferee’s Name-Aqua Utilities, Inc. dba Aqua Texas, Inc., Address-1106 Clayton Lane, Suite 400W, City-Austin, State-Texas, Zip Code-78723. The purchaser or transferee has also requested to amend a CCN in this application. The sale is scheduled to take place as approved by the Executive Director (V.T.C.A., Water Code §13.301). The transaction and the transfer of the CCN include the following subdivisions: Cardinal Valley Subdivision and Pedernales Place Subdivision; unnamed 151.95 acre development (proposed). The area subject to this transaction is located approximately 9 miles north of downtown Henly, Texas and is generally bounded on the north by the Pedernales River; on the east by the Fearless Treadway Road; on the south by McGregor Lane; and on the west by the Pedernales River. The total area being requested includes approximately 400 acres and 50 current customers. This transaction will have the following effect on the current customer’s rates and services: None. Affected persons may file written protests and/or request a public hearing within 30 days of this notice. To request a hearing, you must state (1) your name, mailing address and daytime telephone number; (2) the applicant’s name, application number or another recognizable reference to this application; (3) the statement “I/we request a public hearing”; (4) a brief description of how you, the persons you represent, or the public interest would be adversely affected by the proposed transaction and transfer of the CCN; and (5) your proposed adjustment to the application or CCN which would satisfy your concerns and cause you to withdraw your request for a hearing. Only those persons who submit a written request to be notified of a hearing will receive notice if a hearing is scheduled. The Executive Director will issue the CCN requested in the referenced application unless a hearing is scheduled to consider the transaction. If no protest or requests for hearing are filed during the comment period, the Executive Director may issue the CCN 30 days after publication of this notice. Persons who wish to protest or request a hearing on this application should write the: Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Water Supply Division, Utilities and Districts Section, MC-153, P.O. If you are a landowner (in the new proposed amendment area) with a tract of land at least 25 acres or more, that is partially or wholly located within the proposed area, you may request to exclude the tract from the proposed area (or “opt out”) by providing written notice to the Commission within (30) days from the date that notice was provided by the applicant. All requests to opt out of the requested service area must include a scaled, general location map and a metes and bounds description of the tract of land. Persons who meet the requirements to opt out, and wish to request this option should file the required documents with the: Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Water Supply Division, Utilities and Districts Section, MC-153, P.O.
