BLANCO, TX — Suzette Connell, of Leaning Tree Gallery, between Blanco and Wimberley, will be seeing purple this year as a featured vendor and artist at the Blanco Lavender Lights Christmas Market and Uptown Blanco Art Center Star Show, both which make their debut in the Hill Country this Thanksgiving Weekend.
Connell’s artwork is featured on a first-ever Blanco County limited edition ornament, for sale at the show. She will be in her booth signing ornaments, in addition to showing all her Hill Country themed photographs, assemblages/collages, plates, handmade journals, and animal pins. The Leaning Tree Gallery booth will have many other gift items for sale.
Additionally, in conjunction with the Lavender Lights Market and just across the street, the Uptown Blanco Art Center’s Star Show will feature several of Connell’s artworks. One of her assemblage works will be auctioned off at the show in order to raise money for new art supplies for the Blanco High School art students.
The Lavender Lights Christmas Market will feature more than 30 vendors, special entertainment, hands-on craft-making, carriage rides, strolling carolers, an art show, gift-wrapping services, and special visits by Santa. In addition to the Lavender Lights Christmas Market, the traditional Courthouse Lighting will take place at dusk on Friday, Nov. 28, followed by entertainment and refreshments served by local merchants around the square until 8:00pm.
The Lavender Lights Christmas Market will be open on Friday, Nov. 28 from noon-8pm; Saturday, Nov. 29 from 9am-6pm; and Sunday, Nov. 30 from 11am-4pm. The courthouse square will be lit in lavender and white from Nov. 28 through New Year’s Day.
