This week starts our once a month look back at some of the movies that blew us away and that we consider all time greats that must be watched and watched again.

We've recently come in to possession of a rather large hdtv, so we've gone back to see some of the greats in a whole new way, and realized that others might like to do the same.

The Matrix came out back in 1999 and took the action sci-fi thriller to a new level. The idea that you could have a simulated world thru brain stimulization was a great concept, and the battle that pursued between the machines and humans that we're trapped in this world was intense and satisfying.

The end result confused some, but the realization of knowing how to bend the boundaries of this world and eventually decoding it to fight back, was incredible. The rest of the series was action packed but never quite took hold of you like the first; maybe it was because they had only written one when it became a huge success and then they had to hurry and produce the others and were unable to keep the storyline centered. All in all a must see movie of the last 10 years. 4 classic paws
