The Blanco High School Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America Chapter recently sent a team of officers to participate in a special opportunity—the chance to be part of the 2008 Youth Leadership Day at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, Texas. The officers traveled to Dallas after the Homecoming football game to participate in the annual event on Saturday, September 27, 2008. The State Fair of Texas provides complimentary grounds and seminar admission to all Texas 4-H, FCCLA, and FFA members.

Participants were greeted by The Honorable Jane Nelson, State Senator, District 12. State Officers from FCCLA and FFA addressed the audience and presented information on upcoming events for their respective organization. The featured speaker for the event was Connie Lott, a Marketing Representative for Ag Workers Mutual Auto Insurance Company. At the conclusion of the seminar, members were able to enjoy the many exhibits, the midway games and rides, and of course the food.
