•Blanco State Park - Toddler Time at the Park: Early exposure to and good experiences in nature are key to a child's future relationship and stewardship of our natural resources. This class will be a relaxed and inviting experience for parents and toddlers, ages 1-3, to enjoy nature together. Activities will include walks, meeting plant and animal friends and hearing stories. Parents will remain with children for entire class. Dress appropriately for outdoor activities; bring an easy way to carry your child (backpack, stroller, etc.), a snack and drink. •Blanco State Park- National Public Lands Day: Join us as we celebrate the spirit of the Civilian Conservation Corps by preserving and beautifying one of the many parks they built. Exhibits of the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps will be on display along with info on how Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept works to preserve those and other cultural resources of Texas. As one of our Volunteer Days, participants will help park staff with work projects such as exotic species removal and wildflower seed planting. •38th Annual Ladies State Chili Championship of Texas: Lady cooks from all over the state compete for the title and show teams entertain the crowd. The men are invited to flex their muscles and strut their stuff in the 1st Annual Open Barbeque. Games, vendors, music and more! Admission is FREE. Proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
