Born June 26th, 1980 Cody was called home to his Lord in Heaven September 11th, 2008. Cody suffered Traumatic Brain Injury from a rollover accident near Ingram, Texas on December 7th, 2005. Cody endured the past 33 months in a coma. Cody’s suffering and pain has ended. He can laugh, dance, and smile again with his savior Jesus Christ.

Cody was a 1998 Graduate of LBJ High School in Johnson City, Texas and a 2004 Graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Cody had a gift with those who were disadvantaged, handicapped, or challenged. Cody worked his way through college at a home for brain injured adults and was employed at Starr Ranch working with abused and behavioral challenged youth. He was a source of laughter, hope, love, energy, and joy to all who knew him. He will be missed by many here on earth, but he will be the first to welcome you to heaven.

Cody is survived by his parents, Ron and Darlene Young, his sister Christy L. Young, his grandparents Wayne and Pauline Young, Allen and Chris McKean, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cody is blessed with an abundance of friends. Many who cared for him during his illness by sitting with him, fund raisers, visiting, supporting his family, and praying for his healing. From birth and especially over the last 33 months Cody received an outpouring of love and prayers. The family thanks all of those who lifted up Cody Wayne Young and we celebrate his 28 years with us! He touched more people in his short time among us than many will touch their whole lives.

Visitation was at Crofts Funeral Home, 305 East Elm Street, Johnson City, Texas, 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Sunday, September 14th. Services were at Crofts Funeral Home 1:00p.m. Monday, September 15th, 2008. Graveside services were at Rocky Creek Cemetery immediately following.

Family requests in-lieu of flowers a memorial has been set up at First United Methodist Church, PO Box 207, Johnson City, Texas 78636; Cody Young Scholarship Fund.
