The 11th Annual Empty Bowls event, benefiting the food pantry and related social services of Dripping Springs Helping Hands, is one of the most outstanding examples of neighbors helping neighbors in our community. This popular event will be held Sunday, October 12, at Sunset Canyon Pottery, 4002 E. Highway 290 in Dripping Springs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Helping Hands is a 501©3 organization, so your gift is tax deductible. After selecting a keepsake bowl from one of 1,000 handmade pottery bowls, for a $20 donation at the door per bowl, every patron will enjoy a choice of delicious gourmet soups and breads provided at no cost by restaurants in Dripping Springs and Austin. Local musicians will provide live music, and there will be a silent auction.

The Empty Bowls event is the primary fundraiser for Helping Hands. Contributions will enable Helping Hands to purchase even more food for the pantry throughout the year as well as provide emergency financial assistance to help with such critical needs as rent, utilities, and medicine. Each month Helping Hands serves more than 172 households in the Dripping Springs community. Without Helping Hands these individuals, many of whom are children and senior citizens, would simply not have enough to eat or a place to live.
