The Wimberley Valley Art League (WVAL) announces its 2008 Artist Studio Tour on September 19 & 20. The Studios of eleven nationally-known area painters, sculptors, and pottery artists will be featured. Each Studio has been selected because it represents a creative approach to the use of space for art activities. Normally not open to the public, the Studios range from garage conversions to freestanding backyard studios to open air structures in rustic settings.

For this special fund-raising event, a $15 ticket provides admission to these private workspaces of the artists and displays of their works, many of which will be offered for sale to benefit the art education projects of WVAL, a non-profit organization. Student price is $7. Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and Gallery on the Square in Wimberley.

The WVAL Artist Studio Tour is a special opportunity for Wimberley residents, visitors and tourists to explore the Studios of the following artists: Maxine Price, Leah Dunaway, Betty Rhodes, Keith Sanders, Marianne Vieregg, Bob Gottschall, Angela Nelson, Curtis Scott, Pamela Lamoureux, and Gaye Lynn and Michael Hodgson. Profiles and photos of the artists and their studios will be featured in area newspapers. Several have their own websites where further information is available.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see what makes Wimberley an artist’s colony with the best!
