Prom Night slashed its way into our hearts last week with the terrifying scenario of an escaped serial killer coming to finish the job at none other than a high school prom. I don’t want to give too much away like Noel did last week with Penelope (she told the entire story), but this movie will have you jumping in a few areas and is relatively good compared to some of the other lower budget horror flicks as of late. Even though they could’ve paid the writers a little more in a few scenes, but that’s just me. Prom Night will have you buying your daughter a taser decorated corsage to wear, which my daughter will one day be wearing anyway, not for some psycho, just to keep the lucky (or unlucky) guy who takes her to prom in line. 2 ½ paws
Noel-
Here is a suspenseful/scary movie about a teenage girl whose teacher had a crush on her that went way too far. The movie starts out explaining the history between the teacher and this girl. The girl’s parents had a restraining order put on him that would not allow him to come within so many feet of her, her family, and their home and he of course lost his job. The teacher for some reason thought that they were meant to be together and was going to do whatever he had to do to have her. Well, one night while she is out with her friend, he comes to the house wanting to know where she is and ends up murdering her brother and father. When she gets home she begins to wonder where everyone is and begins searching. She gets to her brothers room and finds him dead and hears her mother’s screams. She instinctively hides under the bed where she hears the teacher ask her mother where she is. Her mother falls to the floor and sees her daughter but doesn’t tell him that she’s there. After more questioning, he murders her mother right in front of her. Three years later, after he has been sent to prison, he somehow escapes and is now on the hunt to find the teenage girl and it just happens to be on her prom night. This isn’t the best scary movie, but there really aren’t that many choices out right now, so if you’re in the mood for a teenage scary movie, Prom Night is worth watching. 2 ½ paws.
