Mary Jane Phillips Van Dunker went home to her Holy Father on Saturday August 23, 2008 at the age of 89 years.

She was born December 26, 1918 on her family farm near the small town of Iredell,Texas. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lawrence Van Dunker, her parents Jack Phillips and Samantha Jane Fulton Phillips.

She also preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters who helped to raise her as she was the youngest of nine children. Mary Jane worked many years at Kelly Air Force Base.

She loved life, family and friends. She had been active in the Blanco Garden Club, the Blanco Library, and the St. Ferdinand’s Alter Society. She loved to travel and was always ready to go.

She is survived by the following: her daughters Helen Jane Hibdon and her husband Steven Hibdon of San Antonio, Texas. Theresa Dianne Dreiss and husband Jim Dreiss of Comfort, Texas; a daughter, Rosemary Van Dunker of Kerrville, Texas; her niece Mildred Jones and husband Bob Jones of Blanco, Texas; nephew Luke Sheppard and his wife Margaret Sheppard of Blanco, Texas. A niece Polly Renfro and her husband Patrick Renfro of San Antonio, Texas.

Mrs. Van Dunker is also survived by six grandchildren:Michael Hibdon and wife Brandy Hibdon, Samantha Jane Ross and husband Brian Ross, Hannah Dreiss and husband Simon Ledezma; Jennifer Dreiss, Michael Walling and wife Dawn; Matthew Hibdon. She has four great-grandchildren Paige, Caleb, Benjamin and Noah.

There will be a Rosary Tuesday August 26, 2008 at 7:00pm at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas. There will be a Mass 9:00am Wednesday August 27, 2008 at St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church with a luncheon following in the church hall at 11:00 am.

The burial will be at Fulton Cemetery near Iredell,Texas on Wednesday August 27, 2008. Funeral arrangements by Crofts Funeral Home, Blanco Texas.
