Hill Country State Bank representatives have presented a check for $1,400 to the Hill Country Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The gift, earmarked for the Health, Hope & Healing Cancer Resource Center Breast Cancer Fund, was accepted by HCMH Foundation Board Chairman, Mike Tomforde, and Cancer Resource Center Coordinator, Donna Lafferty, on July 2.

The funds came from the bank which made a donation in honor of each new account opened at the Fredericksburg Banking Center during the month of June.

Cynthia Scroggins, HCSB senior vice president and Fredericksburg Banking Center Manager, said the bank wanted to show its support for the community and honor new account holders in a meaningful way. “The Cancer Resource Center offers wonderful services to our community free of charge, and we recognize the need for the resources offered for those struggling with cancer,” she said.

The Cancer Resource Center is located in the Brune Professional Building at 808 Reuben Street. For more information on the center, call 830-990-6648. Local banks have brochures available for those seeking more information on ways to support the local hospital, or you may call the HCMH Foundation at 830-997-1297.
