A bulletin board featuring some of the great new books that the library received.

It felt like Christmas when two large boxes of children’s books arrived at the Blanco Library from the Libri Foundation. The Libri Foundation is a nationwide, non-profit organization which donates new, quality, hardcover youth books to small, rural public libraries in the United States through its Books For Children program.

The Friends of the Library contributed funds which were matched on a two to one ratio resulting in 68 new children’s books for the library; a retail value of $1,057.00.

The library was able to select the variety of quality books-both fiction and non-fiction, newly published and old favorites, easy reads and young adult reads.

Children, parents and teachers will enjoy these new books as well as pre-school programs, summer reading programs, holiday programs, school projects and the sheer joy of reading and listening to a good book. The books have been flying off the shelves during our successful summer reading program.

Dorothy Trimble has assembled a variety of the colorful book covers for the children’s area bulletin board. Come to the library and see this wonderful addition to the collection.
