Noel-
The idea to Jumper is a new and fresh idea, but it lacks a lot of things; one of which is explanation.
The story goes that there are two groups of people: the ones that can jump and the ones that hunt after them. They don’t believe that the jumpers should be able to be where ever they want, whenever they want- so they kill them.
At the age of 5 is when most people tell when they can jump. Well, David’s home life isn’t great and we find out that his mother left him when he was 5…hmmmm. Anyway, David has no clue he is a jumper or that others exist and has never jumped, but one day when his life is at stake he is able to jump into a library. I thought this story could have used some more time explaining why and how come and less time on the jumping scenes that made my head hurt; it’s nice that this is a short film which I was grateful for. 2 paws
Keith-
The movie Jumper will not be winning any Oscars, but if you want a little mindless action, it’s not bad. This movie runs 88 minutes so the story here really isn’t explained all that much in detail. The ending scene with his Mom was a little unexpected and corny, but the premise that someone can supernaturally appear anywhere they can imagine is cool. While this movie could be better, it’s still worth a look for the concept and action alone. Expect a little less from a movie and it can be a surprise; it’s better than expecting too much. 2 paws
