The ecology camp was put on by Wildside Education, in collaboration with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Blanco State Park. It was supported by the following businesses and charities: LCRA United Employees Charity, Super S, Brigham Insurance Agency, and Wal-Mart.

The trees to be planted in the park were purchased by the regional office of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. During the camp, kids learned about nature, ecology, and central Texas ecosystems through discussions, games, exploratory hikes, and hands on activities and crafts.

A second camp, Nature Detectives, will be held for children 4 – 6 years old and will run June 23 – 27 from 9am – 12pm. Please contact Barbara Dugelby at 833-9615 or bdugelby@txwinet.com for information about fees and registration.
