Friday, June 13th will be a very lucky day for Blanco and a select group of artists featured in the Lavender Festival Fine Art Show, presented by Uptown Blanco Art Center. The show will exhibit Hill Country artists as well as the art work of our creative community from children to elders. All are cordially invited to a reception on Opening Night, June 13th.

“I am amazed by the talent that is drawn to this area”, said Rebecca Doll, Director of Uptown Blanco Art Center. She added “We are blessed with masters in our community, and our students embrace their lessons with liveliness and energy. We look forward to demonstrating their creative work.” The Uptown Blanco Art Center is one of the components that focus on arts in the Hill Country.

Opening Night is June 13 will begin at 5:00pm and wrap up around 8:00pm. Uptown Blanco Restaurant will serve refreshments and a cash bar will offer beer and wine. The free show is located on the west side of the Square in Blanco at 317 Main Street. Guests may enter from 4th Street. Also, local galleries in Blanco and Johnson City will be open for viewing more fine art immediately following the Lavender Festival Fine Art Show.

Guests may also sign up for art instruction to begin Monday, June 16th. The course catalogue includes beading, drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, creative writing, song writing, poetry, stained glass, collage, sculpture and fiber art like macramé, batik, and paper making; details will be available at the opening.
