Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Blanco County will be hosting a Babysitters Boot Camp June 9-11. The course will last from 8 am to 5 pm on June 9 and 10 and from 9 am to Noon on June 11. The registration fee will be $65 and includes lunch on Monday and Tuesday. The course will be held for children ages 11-14 at the Blanco Library.

Individuals in the course will learn the basics of babysitting including how to diaper, to feed using a bottle or spoon, how to help with hygiene, precautions to consider when sitting, how to conduct interviews to make the right fit, and more! Individuals will become certified in both Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.

On Wednesday, Gretchen Sanders, Blanco County Extension Agent-Family and Consumer Sciences will teach a session on activities babysitters can use while working.

Participants will make and decorate a kit of ideas, learn and

prepare a batch of peanut butter play dough, and make a craft.

Certification as a Red Cross trained babysitter will enhance any resume and never expires. Call Gretchen at the AgriLife Extension office, 868-7167, to register.
