Local wood artist Doris Phipps has been selected to exhibit at the Official Texas State Arts and Crafts Fair May 23-26, 2008. Through a stringent jury process, images of the applicant’s work are viewed simultaneously by a panel of jurors from the fair, as well as professionals from the art community.

Jurors score the artists’ work according to concept, workmanship, originality, and presentation. The jurors’ scores are averaged and the top scoring entrants are accepted.

The Texas State Arts and Crafts Fair runs Memorial Day Weekend at the River Star Arts and Event park on Highway 27E in Kerrville. In addition to the 200 artists and their works, attendees will enjoy art demonstrations, music, a children’s activity area with pony rides, inflatables, art projects, and an interactive video gaming area. There is always plenty to eat and drink while on the fairgrounds.
