I watched this with my wife and was expecting a chick flick sob fest with some sweet moments; by the end I just wanted this to end. It was hard to identify with his dying because they didn't really lead up to it, one minute he's there - next scene he's gone and then we finally find out why during his drinking social/comedic funeral. I think I lost connection with the movie during the lack of proper respect from his so-called loved ones. It seemed more like the funeral should have been the get together between friends later at a bar to remember him. Hillary Swank played her role OK and the general direction of the movie is a sweet thought: a husband knowing he is going to die and pre-planning a series of letters and events that would help his wife move on and remember him, I just didn't feel the connection as if this was real, it was like watching actors do there job and a director that failed to pull me in. Sorry ladies, 2 paws.

If you haven’t heard of this movie yet and you’re a woman, you must have been living under a rock for the last few months because this has been one of the most anticipated chick flicks this year. This is a movie that is guaranteed to make you cry at least once, if not more, like I did. Imagine that you are married to the most wonderful man ever (like I am), a deadly disease attacks his body, he passes away in his early thirties, leaves you alone with no children, and you try to cope with the loss at a young age. Then four weeks later your family comes and reminds you that it’s your 30th birthday and tries to help you celebrate and someone delivers a birthday cake to you and it’s from your dead husband! I won’t say anymore but this is a very sad yet happy movie that ends beautifully but if you are not in the mood to cry or feel emotional then stay away from this movie!! 3 paws.
