A motion to advertise for paving roads in Blanco County Precinct Three failed due to the lack of second during the April 8th meeting of the Blanco County Commissioner’s Court.
Commissioner Mauck, Pct. 3, asked for the authorization to advertise for paving of approximately four miles of road in his precinct. This motion was to have been for a single course paving on two separate roads in the district.
After several minutes of discussion between the Commissioners, Judge Guthrie suggested that “we see how to best go about doing it ourselves with our own equipment.”
Two representatives from the Ranches of Brushy Top subdivision attended the meeting to ask for a revision of the plat.
“We’d like to add another 28 additional lots,” said Don Sherman, surveyor for the property, after answering the Commissioners questions and providing needed documentation.
Pedernales Soil and Water Conservation District representatives, G.A. Cowert and Melissa Grody, provided information to the Commissioner’s Court regarding the current status of the Pedernales Brush Management Project.
“We are very passionate about the treatment to destroy ashe juniper as it is destroying our Hill Country landscape,” said Cowert.
Grody commented that “there is still lots of potential to work with other areas in the Hill Country. There is a lot of interest in the Hill Country.”
A temporary, part-time employee position for Pct. 3 was discussed and approved by the court.
Payroll, official reports, minutes of prior meetings, and outstanding bills were all approved, with only one question regarding a phone bill amount.
