Blanco beat Coahoma 5-3 and 11-3 to advance to the Regional Quarterfinals.

Senior Ross McCormick started for the Panthers in game one and went seven strong innings striking out eight and scattering six hits to pick up his seventh victory of the year.

Blanco pounded out 11 hits during the game. Ethan Evans went three for three. McCormick and Lance Gottardy each had two hits. Shane Klein and John Pepper each had two RBI’s doubles.

Justin Warner got the ball in game two and went seven innings striking out five and allowing seven hits through seven innings.

The Panthers exploded on offense for 15 hits. Kevin Gray led with three hits and three RBI’s. Senior Justin Warner was two for four with three RBI’s. Lance Gottardy, Chantell Young, and Austin Thompson all had two hits.

Blanco turned six double plays in the series.

The Panthers are now 23-9 on the year.

The Panthers will play Grape Creek, who is ranked #4 in the state in a series of games. The first game will be on Thursday in Fredericksburg at 7 PM. They will then travel to Brownwood on Saturday and play at 1:30 PM at Howard Payne University, then, if needed, game three will be 30 minutes after.
