Pamela Keith

Pam is a transplanted Texas from the states of Maine and Iowa. She likes to say that she got here as soon as she could. She and her husband, Bob, live in the San Antonio area where she works out of her studio.

Pam has tried other media such as oil painting and watercolor, but ceramics quickly became her great passion. It wasn’t until their move to Texas that she truly got a chance to concentrate on her art. Her objective is to learn more about clay in terms of design and her art reflects an interest in Southwest design, particularly those of the early Texas natives. She is currently working on pit firings, slab work, and hand built displays.

Pam also designs lace pieces from a collection of over 160 lace doilies collected over the last ten years. Some of these dollies are from as far away as Scotland. Each design is transferred to the clay and molded into plates or bowls. Each piece is hand painted and very seldom do any two pieces look alike.

I want to thank the Tejas Art Club for choosing me as their artist of the Month. I appreciate their enthusiasm in welcoming us as new members. I look forward to my association with the club and the Blanco community for years to come.
