Program to feature farm, ranch computers

The Blanco Count Farm Bureau and the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee will offer a program to all interested Farmers and Ranchers on how computer can play an intricate part in your everyday life.
The program is called “Acres.”
This program allows farmers and ranchers to receive commodities futures quotes, future prices quotes and National and International weather reports.
This program is available to producers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are interested in learning more about this informative program, a meeting will be held on May 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the County Courthouse Annex meeting room.
All interested persons are welcomed. Hope to see you on Thursday evening.
Annual Barbecue Slated by

A barbecue will be held by the Blanco Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, May 5, on the chamber grounds. This annual event is sponsored to obtain funds for various activities carried out by the chamber.
Featured this year will be barbecued chicken and hot tamales, both regular and Jalapena types.
Barbecue will be ready to go by 11:00 a.m.
Band concert May 9

The 5th and 6th Grade Bands of Blanco Elementary Schools will perform on their annual spring concert on Tuesday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be in the high school auditorium and will feature the 5th grade band and 6th grade band separately. These students have worked hard and have made great improved in the last two months.
Pleased come listen to their music next Tuesday night.
Julie Stobaugh Receives Honor

Miss Julie Stobaugh, a Junior at Southwest Texas State College, received recognition for scholarship in her major field of Home Economics at the General Awards Day Ceremony on Friday, April 26.
Julie was recently installed into the Alpha Xi Delta, a national social sorority.
Mother’s Day, birthday luncheon
May 5, 1978
The Senior Citizens are having a covered dish lunch Friday, May 12 at noon in honor of Mother’s Day and all birthdays in May.
Everyone is invited to come and bring a covered dish to the Senior Citizens Center on the square in Blanco.
Car Wash Slated By Senior Class
May 3, 1968
The Senior Class is raising money which will be used by class members for their Senior Trip at the close of school.
Every Saturday until the end of May they will hold a car wash beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Mobil Station. Persons interested may call 833-4886 to have their car picked up or bring it to the station.
Prices are $1.50 per car, or $1.75 for a station wagon.
Extension Homemakers Week Celebrated May 1-7

The Blanco Homemakers, Alumni and Association of FHA will hold our monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the H.E. Cottage. Our speaker will be Phyllis Owen on “Planning on a Successful Futrure.”
The 1988 High School Seniors will be our guests as we honor their upcoming graduation.
Members are asked to remember the following items:
1) Articles for the Family Crisis Center in Marble Falls
2) Installation of our 1988-1989 officers will occur
3) Cookbook money is due
4) Possible dates for out June family get-together
Any and everyone interested is welcome to attend out last meeting of this school year.
New Recreation Center to Hold General Meeting
May 3, 1968
A Blanco Recreation Center general meeting will be held on May 14th. Time and place will be announced next week.
FHA County Supervisor Sid Mercer and Engineer W.H. Mullins will be present to explain the entire project.
This is an open meeting and the general public is urged to attend.
