The KBB beautification volunteers were busy today spreading a large pickup load of cedar mulch on all of the beautiful plants in front of the city hall and in the Bindseil Park. The mulch was donated by the new beautification volunteers, Linda Howard, Charles Rothenbach, and Robert Stafford. The city yard, Bindseil Park and Byars Building landscaping are all designed by Judy Dorsett, planted and maintained by Keep Blanco Beautiful. Please take a stroll through the park and see how beautiful it is.

The Byars Tree was donated to the City of Blanco by the children of Roy Byars. This is recognized as the 2nd largest Liveoak tree in Blanco County. On May 13th at 5:30 p. m. there will be a small ceremony to dedicate the plaque with the history of the tree. The pedestal and plaque were erected by the Byars family. It will be dedicated by Marilyn Mikes.

We will have the 2008 statistics from the 9th annual Trash Off Day in next week’s article.
