Hayward Glenn Page passed away at home Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Glenn was born in Andulisa, AL, September 17, 1933 to his parents James and Gertrude Page.
Mr. Page served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Corporal. Glenn’s favorite past time was spending time and doing things with his grandchildren, gardening, working in the yard, fishing, watching football, playing dominoes, especially train, with his friends and family. One of his greatest feats was digging three water wells by his self that produced water the family used. Hayward was retired from MKT Railroad where he worked for 20 years. He was a member of the Teamster Local #988 for 21 years while working for Allied Systems. He and his loving wife, Roberta, of 51 years were married at Shilo Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX.
Mr. Page is survived by his loving wife, Roberta; sons, Tommy Page and wife Bonnie of Pearland, TX, Jason Page of Livingston, TX; daughters, Glenda Kirsch and husband Ron of Wallis, TX, Teresa Page and John Frazier of Blanco, TX; grandchildren, Tommy Page, Jr., Erin Sigler, Randal Page, Christina Sigler, Matthew Sigler, Phillip Kirsch, Simon Goldstein and Kaitlyn Kirsch; great-grandchildren, Erin Lupita, Zoe Kaye, Veronica Teresa; nephews, Steve Helms of Lowell, IN, Donnie Jordan of DeMatte, IN, Milton Page of Opp, AL, Carlton Page of Ottawa, IL, Eugene and Willie Cross of Opp, AL; nieces, Irma White of De Funiach Spro. FL, Janice Stinson of Opp, AL, Patty Hayes of Orland Park, IL, Donna Ogrentz of Thornton, CO, Jo Ann Farber of Dolton, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Page and James Page; sisters, Ann Ogrentz, Cossette Helms, Ruth Jordan; niece, Pamela Kors; nephew, Kenneth Helms and great-grandson, Christian Sigler.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2010, at Pace Funeral Home, with Bro. Ron Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
