Trisha was given a wrought iron cat clock in appreciation of her dedication in providing food and care to several colonies of cats totaling over 50 cats. A colony is a group of cats that have banded together. These particular cats had been abandoned by their owners and would have starved without Trisha’s help. In both colonies, all the cats have been given rabies shots and have been spayed or neutered so there will be no more growth of the colonies.

The Cat Coalition met at the Blanco Library to discuss issues concerning the over population of feral cats in Blanco county. Topics included TNR trap-neuter-return and how that controls the population and health of the colony. How to trap cats safely and where to take them for spay/neuter; the importance of rabies vaccinations and fundraising. Door prizes were drawn and refreshments were served.

The Blanco County Cat Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the problem of the feral cat population in Blanco County by using the proven method of Trap Spay/Neuter Return, or TNR. The BCCC is in need of donations and volunteers to continue its work in Blanco County.
