The doors of the Blanco Pioneer Museum will open to the citizens of Blanco on November 20, 2009, for a sneak preview. There is no admission fee but donations to operate the museum are welcome. We are looking forward to the participation of citizens in developing this museum. Suggestions for future exhibits are welcome and docents who know the many stories of the great history of Blanco are still needed. Hours on the 20th are from noon to 4:00pm.

On November 27 and 28, the museum will be open to the public in conjunction with the Lavender Lights Celebration. Refreshments will be served in the evening. Hours of operation on these days are Friday, noon to 8:00pm and Saturday, noon to 4:00pm.

A grand opening will be announced at a later date. Make this a community museum by participating, donating, supporting, and telling others. We cannot do this without public support.

The museum is located in the Blanco Historical District at 418 Pecan Street just off the Blanco Square. Look for the beautiful white home on the corner before the old Wool and Mohair building on the right side of Pecan going north.
