Once again it’s time to dust off those sparkles and spurs for the annual Old Blanco Courthouse Preservation Society Gala. This year’s festivities are scheduled for April 26th from 6-11 p.m. on the grounds of the historic Old Blanco County Courthouse. Silent auction items will be displayed in the courthouse beginning April 22nd, and a live auction will be held at 9 p.m. the night of the Gala.

This year’s Gala will take place under the stars, with tables set up under tents and the Sam Bentley band performing for your dancing pleasure. An Old West Barbecue, catered by Riley’s Barbecue of Blanco, will include three meats, beans, coleslaw, iced tea, bread, and cobbler. Tickets are available for $45 at the courthouse.

Proceeds from the Gala help pay down the $55K remaining on the note, as well as Phase II landscaping of the grounds, refurbishing the original courtroom floors, and continued room restorations. The Old Blanco Courthouse is considered to be the best example of Second Empire-style architecture in the state of Texas.

Please join us for an evening of fun with your friends. Rain or shine, we look forward to seeing you. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation to assist in preserving this Blanco treasure.
