The weather was beautiful and the turnout was great. The Blanco Volunteer Fire Department raised approximately $23,000.00, which came from mail outs and donations received at the fish fry. This money will be used to purchase a TIC (thermal imaging camera). This life-saving device identifies heat through walls and in low-visibility areas. A TIC can identify where possible flashovers or back drafts exist, alerting firefighters of possible danger.
The BVFD members want to thank all of the volunteers who help make this annual fish fry a great success. There were over 50 people who gave up their Saturday afternoon to help. The members appreciated the attendance of State Representative, Patrick Rose.
The members want to extend their sympathy to the friends and family of Arkie Byars who passed away Saturday. Arkie was a loyal volunteer from Johnson City who assisted BVFD many times. He will be missed.
Again THANK YOU.
