•The Texas Department of State Health Services will be providing high risk individuals Adult FLU vaccinations at: Trinity Lutheran Church (703 N Main, Blanco), Nov. 4 from 9:30-11am and 1-3pm. COST: individual – Donation Fee $10 for Flu, $10 for Td/Tdap and $20 for Pneumococcal. If you have Medicare or Medicaid, filing will be available. •Santa’s Ranch, the spectacular Christmas light park with more than 1.5 million twinkling lights on 12 acres, will open for its seventh season on Friday, Nov. 6. Located on I-35 between New Braunfels and San Marcos, the park has become a holiday destination for families through out central Texas. Santa’s Ranch will be open every night through Jan. 2. •Blanco Verde Farm Tour takes off from the Old Blanco County Courthouse in Blanco on November 7 at 9:15am. Blanco Verde, a non-profit that promotes sustainability in the Blanco River area, invites you to be on board for this day-long adventure of three local farms around Wimberley and Johnson City. We’ll return late afternoon, entertained and educated. The $85 cost includes transportation, tours, tastings, and lunch. Seating is limited so please make your reservation by Nov. 1. The club will meet the second Thursday of every month at Joyful Noise Coffee House, 520 Pecan. The first meeting is Thursday November 12 at 6:00pm. The book to be discussed is Michael Pollan’s Omnivore’s Dilemma. Dr. Charlie Tesar will lead the discussion.

•The Blanco County Cat Coalition will meet Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the JC Public Library from 6-8pm. The BCCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of cats in the Blanco County area by addressing the problem of cat over population by using the proven method of Trap, Spay/Neuter, Return or TNR. They are not funded by the County and are depending on community involvement to make this a successful program. Please support the BCCC by donating and attending meetings.
