Llano Heritage Days will have its annual celebration on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

Located downtown on either side of the river, the event showcases the history, talent, and vision of the early pioneers and modern day "settlers." On the south side of the river, in front of the newly restored court house, Llano Main Street proudly presents a gathering of arts, crafts, food and the best dang music in Texas; the Main St. group has focused its efforts to restore and revitalize downtown Llano,TX. Included in the festivities will be the dedication of the new courthouse cupola accompanied by local dignitaries and some surprise guests! The dedication will be at 10:00am, after which the music and dancing begins and lasts until 5:00pm.

Returning this year by popular demand is The Riff Riders, the ever excellent touring band of George Strait!

They will kick off the music concert at High Noon. This band is well versed in swing and Texas twang and will get your whole family smiling and dancing. At 1:30 George Ensle, a nationally respected songwriter will take the stage for stories, songs and

such. The Grammy award winning Floyd Domino will perform on piano, with his fellow music mavens from 3-4:00pm, spinning tales and songs and the pianos will keep you humming. Domino has a rich musical heritage and is a world renowned player, writer and performer. Bringing in the sunset are Teru and Manny Duarte, Llano's best kept cowboy/cowgirl secret. They deliver a timeless blend of Cowboy and Celtic at 4:00.

If you remember the TV show The Virginian, you are going to love this years special guest, James Drury, the award winning actor and Texan! He will be on hand to show off some moves, sign autographs and add to the fun things to do and see.

Friday night at the Lan-Tex theater old versions of some of his best shows will air as a prelude to the cowboy mood.

Included in the event is a chuck wagon cook off on the north side of the Llano River with wagons pulling in Friday, the 16th, to prepare the victuals. Starting Saturday morning at the cook off, judges will judge cooking and cowboys will roam.
