Five members of the Blanco FFA and Blanco Jr. FFA traveled to Hondo to take part in the Annual Medina County Fair Prospect Steer Show. Annually, this show proves to be one of the largest and most competitive prospect shows in the state. This year alone, more than 320 head of cattle were exhibited.

High school FFA members Kaleigh Anderson, Quade Haack, and Kylie Leachman each took home high placings. Kaleigh exhibited the Champion Simbrah, along with a lightweight class winner in the Simmental division. She would also show a fourth place Santa Gertrudis and Limousin in addition to a fifth place ABC and Chianina. Quade also fared well, winning two second place ribbons in the Santa Gertrudis and Maine Anjou classes. Finally, Kylie would also be awarded a second place ribbon with her lightweight Charolais steer.

In addition to the three high school FFA members from Blanco, Asher and Carly Haack also took part in the show and did very well, as each made the finals in the Jr. Showmanship. Asher took home a fifth place ribbon in the Maine Anjou class.

Advisors for the Blanco FFA are Felice and Jason Marek.
