The Blanco-Pedernales Groundwater Conservation District has scheduled a workshop on assessing the needs, capabilities, opportunities, etc., for aquifer/groundwater research in and around Blanco County. We are interested in both local research and research that may involve other groundwater districts.

We are particularly interested in hearing about ongoing research work by groundwater districts in adjacent counties. These counties often share similar geology and hydrology that may offer opportunities for extending their research efforts into Blanco County.

This will be a public meeting of our Board of Directors. Groundwater scientists and professionals are expected to attend and some will make short presentations. Members of the public are also invited to attend.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2008 starting at 1:00 p.m. The meeting is expected to last 2-3 hours. We are currently planning on meeting at the Blanco Pedernales GCD office, located at 601 West Main in Johnson City. The office is on the south (left) side of US 290 as you leave Johnson City going toward Fredericksburg.

Please feel free to call the Blanco Pedernales Groundwater Conservation District office at (830) 868-9196 with any questions.
