With the passing of most full-service gas stations, many people are trying to learn things about their cars that they didn’t have to know before.

To help in that education, Hill Country Memorial Hospital’s Passport 55 program is sponsoring a free car clinic Saturday, March 29, at 10 a.m. in the Perry-Feller Professional Building parking lot at 205 Windcrest, Fredericksburg.

“Because many of us don’t know what fluids to check or even how to do that, we more and more just neglect necessary maintenance, and sometimes that can lead to costly repairs and safety issues,” Linda Davis, Passport 55 manager, said.

Ms. Davis has lined up some experienced car-buffs, including Mike Liston, Passport 55’s long-time bus driver, to volunteer their time and expertise to show attendees such things as how to open the hood of their car and how to check various fluid levels and tire pressure.

“Everyone is welcome to bring their vehicles by and learn some simple but extremely important measures they can take that will make their lives easier and maybe even save some money,” Ms. Davis said.

To sign up, call the Passport 55 office at 830-997-1307.
