Blanco residents are reminded to start collecting unwanted items now in preparation for the city’s 9th Annual Trash-Off Day Saturday, April 5th.

Persons living inside the city limits may dispose of old appliances, TV’s, lawn mowers, air conditioners, furniture, etc.

About the only thing not accepted would be tires, paint, batteries and other things harmful to the environment.

The unwanted material should be hauled to the city yard on Jones Avenue between 8 am and 12 PM.

Persons, especially the elderly, may call city hall at 833-4525 for assistance in hauling items. It’s not to early to get on that list now.

The City of Blanco, partnering with Keep Blanco Beautiful, urge all city residents to take part.

Volunteers are also needed for the Second Annual Blanco River Clean-up also taking place April 5th.

Last year, over 600 pounds of litter was collected from Wayne Smith Dam to the east end of the state park.

If you can help or donate a canoe, please call Martha Gosnell at 833-0586.

Plan on signing up for the Trash-Off or River Clean-up Saturday, April 5th, at 8:30 AM on the southside of the courthouse grounds.

Come on Blanco! Let’s keep Blanco Beautiful!

There’s still time to volunteer and get a free t-shirt!

Call Retta Martin at 830-833-4270 to sign up before Saturday.
