The following Blanco citizens filed for candidacy for the three city council seats in the upcoming May election. The open positions are at-large, meaning that the three candidates with the most votes will be elected. The names are listed as they will be presented on the ballot:

• Rebecca Howerton, 73, retired teacher and currently on city council

• Linda Howard, 61, library assistant

• Todd Ehlers, 37, plant manager

• Bob “Bobby Mack” McClung, 53, executive and currently on city council

• Ron Houston, 69, announcer and currently on city council

• Louann Hayes, 55, office administrator

• Christina “Tina” M. Gourley, 52, internal auditor
