The Blanco Middle School held a successful track meet on Friday March 7, 2008.

In the seventh grade long jump, White broke the meet record with a jump of 17’2”, followed by Isenberg who jumped 14’8.5” to tie for fourth place and Marshal who took sixth place with a jump of 14’7”.

In the triple jump, White broke another meet record, with a jump of 34’3” to take first place. Isenberg claimed fourth place with a jump of 30’1”.

Over at the high jump pit, Fuller took fourth place as he cleared 4’4”, followed by Byler who took sixth place by clearing 4’4”. Childress took third place in the pole vault by clearing 6’0”.

Ruiz took second place in the shot put with a put of 29’3”, followed by Ray with a throw of 27’9.5” and Leachman who threw 26’9.5 to claim sixth place. Alvarado took third place in the discus area, throwing 71’3”, followed by Ray who threw 70’9.5” for fourth place and Itz who took sixth place with a throw of 65’9.5”

In the running events, Blanco took took first place in the 4x100 relay with a time of 51.49, in the 4x400 Blanco took second place with a time of 4:29.85.

Harding took second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:44.27 followed by Alvarado who took fourth place with a time of 2:45.65 and Collado who took sixth place with a time of 2:53.57.

In the 100 meter dash, Ruiz took fourth place with a time of 13.97 and Brown took first place in the 110 hurdles with a time of 21.41. Alvarado took second place in the1600 meter run with a time of 5:57.67 and Brown took fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 55.12.

Fourth place was taken by Collado in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:14.13 followed by Fuller who took fifth place with a time of 1:17.11. Childress took third place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.67 followed by Marshall who took fifth place with a time of 29.97.

Blanco finished second overall with a team total of 151 points.

The seventh grade girls took second place over all with a team total of 147 points.

Flores took fourth place in the long jump with a jump of 12’6” followed by Burkhart who jumped 12’2” to tie for sixth place.

McClinton took fifth place in the triple jump with a jump of 27’5”, she took first place in the pole vault, clearing 6’6”.

At the high jump, Culton took fifth place as she cleared 4’2” followed by Williams who took sixth place by clearing 4’0”.

Schwind took first place in the shot put with a throw of 26’4.5” followed by Romero who threw 24’6.5” to take fourth place.

In the discus ring, Romero took first place and claimed the new meet record with a throw of 70’1” followed by Cox who took second place with a throw of 63’4” and Schwind took fifth place with a throw of 59’10”.

Blanco took second place in the 4x100 relay with a time of 58.06, and first place in the 4x200 relay with a time of 2:05.56 and first place in the 4x400 relay with a final time of 5:00.42.

Sanchez took fifth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:04.44.

Burkhart took second place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.99 followed by WIlliams who had a time of 20.51 to take second place and Wright who took sixth place with a time of 20.84.

Martinez took first place with a time of 1:13.11 followed by Martinez who took second place with a time of 1.15.38.

Romero took fifth place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.95 followed by Culton who took sixth place with a time of 14.97.

Culton took fifth place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 32.07 followed by Martinez who took sixth place with a time of 32.79.

The eighth grade girls took second place over all with a total of 169 points.

In the 4x400 realy Blanco took first place with a time of 4:48.08 in the 4x200 relay took first place with a time of 2:00.89 and first place in the 4x100 relay took first place with a time of 56.09.

In the 800 meter run Stahlman took first place with a time of 2:58.78 followed by Cox who took second place with a time of 3:04.78. In the 100 meter dash Montooth took fifth place with a time of 14.85. Flores took fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time 21.33.

Weaver took first place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:07.91 followed by Klein who took second place with a time of 1:11.39 and Cox who took fourth with a time of 1:17.84.

In the 300-meter hurdles Staats took fifth place with a time of 1:09.24 followed by Flores who had a time of 1:09.80.

matrinez took first place with a time of 27.74 followed by Stahlman who took sixth palce with a time of 31.71.

In the field events Cooley took first place in the triple jump with a jump of 30’7”. Weaver took first place in the pole vault by clearing 6’.

In the long jump Cooley took third place with a jump of 14’2.5” followed by Martinez hwo jumped 13’3”. Klein took second place in the high jump as she cleared 4’4” follwed by Jenkins who cleared 4’4” with more misses.

In the shot out ring Montooth took second place with a throw of 23’7” followed by Primeaux who threw 23’2”. Arlitt took third place in the discus area with a throw of 55’1”.

The eighth grade boys tied for third place with a total of 103 team points.

In the 4x400 relay, Blanco took third place with a time of 4:26.15, in the 4x200 relay. Blanco took sixth place with a time of 1:55.63 and 4x100 relay. They took third place with a time of 52.49.

In the 800 meter run, Strodtbeck took first place with a time of 2:35.07, followed by Leger who took third place with a time of 2:40.13.

Mayfield took first place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.66. In the 300-meter hurdles, Pepper took second place with a time of 51.56 followed by Mayfield who took third place with a time of 52.14.

Noah took fifth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.95 and in the 1600 meter run Leger took sixth place with a time of 6:21.85

Pepper tied for fouth place with a jump of 15’1.5” in the long jump, and a jump of 32’5” in the triple jump to take fifth place.

Rogers took fifth place in the high jump by clearing 4’6”.

Mayfield took first place in the pole vault by clearing 8’6” followed by Lyons who tied for third place by clearing 7’6”.

Lieck took fifth place in the shot put ring with a throw of 34’5.5” followed by Scheidt who threw 33’7.5” to take sixth place.

Rogers took second place in the discus with a throw of 108’10” followed by Mayfield who threw 101’10” to take fifth place.
