After the death of his first wife, he moved to Austin, TX and worked at Wolfe Nursery for many years before retiring. There once again he returned to his love for trees, plants, and flowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erna and Emil Ludwig and by his first wife, Olga Seiler; son, Daniel Ludwig; and sister, Margaret Smith.
