Join The Celebration. The Johnson City Chamber of Commerce & all the co sponsors would like to invite you to participate in the 2009 7th Annual Fourth of July Spange Dangle Parade. The parade will kick off an evening of celebration and fun filled activities for the entire family on July 4th. The parade begins at 7 pm. So gather the kids, grandkids, grandparents, pets and the neighbors and join us for an old-fashioned, good time celebrating our Great Nation's Birthday. This year we decided to have the parade in the evening to beat the heat and also have all the festivities closer together. We would like to see everyone possible enter into the parade. Use your imagination, get creative and sign up. It's time to have fun, fun , fun and show the rest of us what Patriots we all can be. Ride a bicycle, a motorcycle, walk, ride a horse, a donkey, a buggy and/or whatever else you can dream up. Remember this is our community get together to celebrate the most wonderful day of this country 'The United States of America', July 4th Independence Day.

Oh, there will trophies in several categories, with a special trophy for, "Most Patriotic". Also, there will be First, Second and Third Prizes, and Best Animal Presentation awards. The awards will be presented on the dance floor of the Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall immediately following the Parade.

Check out the new time and route for the Spange Dangle Parade! Again, it will begin at 7:00pm. The parade route will begin at City Hall; go West on Pecan; then North on Nugent (Spur 356); up Old River Road to the back entrance of the Blanco County Fairgrounds for a distance of 1.3 miles.
