Is there a child, grandchild, niece, or person in your life that needs help with reading? Dr. Ann Hall will meet with interested parents and citizens Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Blanco Library at 6:30pm to demonstrate effective ways to tutor struggling readers. Additional sessions may be set up if there is sufficient interest.

Dr. Hall is a retired professor of Reading Education and resident of Blanco. She taught teachers, at the graduate and undergraduate level, and supervised a Reading Clinic for children with reading difficulties at Texas State University for over 14 years.

Dr. Hall states, “Private tutoring is often very expensive. I can provide parents and tutors with some specific skills that may improve reading skills or may prevent losing reading skills over the summer. Some readers have problems saying the words, others have problems with comprehension, and others need to improve vocabulary. I’d like to help the citizens of Blanco learn the most effective ways to tutor struggling readers. Please come and discuss with me, ways to make struggling readers better readers. ”
