The Blanco Historical Preservation Commission celebrated with Laura and Keith Williamson the arrival of their National Register Plaque. Mayor Tina Gourley spoke about the significance of the plaque to the history of Blanco and how the integrity of the building has been kept. Julie Dill of the Chamber talked about the pride of the community and how all businesses should take pride in their buildings. Linda Howard gave a short history of the Morgan building and congratulated Mrs. Williamson on getting the plaque for the building. The crowd gathered was invited to tour the building and have lemonade and cookies. See Photos.

An added note to this story is Mr. T.D. Smylie phoned later to say that the original name of the building was CS & CN Store when Miss Morgan owned the building. The meaning of CS & CN was Common Sense and Common Necessities. It was a ladies shop for women’s apparel and undergarments, in addition to hats. If anyone else in Blanco knows more history or a story of the building, please tell the owners or the Preservation Commission so we can record it.
