Stephen Michael Holmes, 41, passed away at the Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco, February 23, 2008. Stephen was born April 1, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina.
Stephen is survived by his father and wife, Fred and Gail Holmes, Leicester, North Carolina, his mother and husband Trish and Randy Woodruff, Blanco, grandmother, Sheila Wolfe, San Antonio, three brothers, Robert Holmes, Blanco, Daniel Holmes, Ashville, North Carolina and Justin Holmes, Leicester, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ron and Pat Wolfe. He is also survived by his nephew, Kyle Holmes and his niece, Kendra Holmes of Blanco and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He would want an honorable mention for Nickie Cox of Blanco, his beloved aunt who was always there for him. Although Stephen had some disabilities, he had many abilities – he accepted the hand he was dealt and made the most of his life. He was a gentle soul with a genuine fondness and acceptance for everyone. He will miss his many friends in Blanco. Steve had many passions – Star Wars, the Beatles, Godzilla, Batman, the Dallas Cowboys, cats and most of all his family. He leaves a big hole in all our hearts.
Services for Stephen were held Tuesday, February 26, 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Blanco. Burial followed in the Blanco Cemetery.
