The 5th Annual Lavender Festival has expanded to Friday this year, allowing festival goers a chance to avoid the crowds on Saturday and Sunday. All six participating farms are open on Friday, June 12, with tours from 10am to 4pm. The Arts & Crafts Market on the Courthouse Square opens from 3pm to 8pm, as does the wine and beer tent, with music by Nelson Broyal. The grand finale for the day is the festival’s first street dance from 6 to 10pm, with Blanco’s own Zydeco Blanco.

The Friday events are considered a “soft opening” and trial run for 2010, and provide a great opportunity for Blanco area residents to enjoy the fun of the festival and the lure of the farms, at a bit of a slower pace.
