Hazel West Price, age 82, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009. She was born March 8, 1927, to Henry “Dude” West and Pearl Bagby West in Blanco, living most of her life there. Hazel married Charlie Fulcher Price on March 18, 1945. Charlie preceded in death on July 17, 1998.

Hazel wore many hats in her lifetime while taking care of her family. She assisted Charlie in his veterinary practice and spent her days cooking, gardening, and sewing for family and friends. She had a heart that knew no end in loving and caring for all the people she knew.

Hazel is survived by her children: Bonnie Dechert of Boerne, Sonja and husband Calvin Hartmann of Johnson City, Donna and husband Charlie Lux of Kendalia, Charles Price and wife Suzanne of Blanco, Tom Price of Blanco, and Debra Price of Durango, CO. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Frank West, and two sisters, Stella Zieglar and Gloria Nance, all of Blanco.

In memory of Hazel, donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Blanco VFD, or the Blanco EMS.

Visitation for Hazel was held Sunday, May 17 from 12:00 to 8:00pm with family present from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Services were at 10:00am on Monday, May 18 at Crofts Funeral Home Chapel in Blanco. Burial followed in the Blanco Cemetery.
