Iola Pauline (Sheffield) Albritton Harty, 91 of Pearland, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009. She was born in Joseph, Texas to William and Anna Sheffield. During Iola’s lifetime she worked for a variety of companies. She owned a grocery store in Friendswood, Texas for 21 years and also worked for the Shelby Biscuit Company. She later retired from the City of Houston. After retiring, she lived in Kerrville, Texas for several years and then Iola later moved back to Pearland, Texas to be with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elisha Boyd Harty.

Iola is survived by her step son, Christopher Boyd Harty and his wife Gail; grandson, Christopher Matthew Harty and wife Trina; nieces, Carolyn Siems and husband Leon, Terrie Biediger and husband Bob; nephews, Billy Beicker and wife Kay, Karl Beicker and wife AJ; Cary Sheffield and wife Liz, Ronnie Sheffield and wife Linda; ten great nieces and nephews; sixteen great, great nieces and nephews and many friends that she loved as family. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 6:00pm at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546, (281) 992-7200 with Ronnie Sheffield officiating.

An additional service will be held Friday, May 15, 2009 at 2:00pm at Crofts Funeral Home, 911 Mesquite Street, Blanco, Texas 78606, (830) 833-4523. Burial to follow at Blanco Cemetery in Blanco, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to Friendswood Friends Church, 502 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546, (281) 482-7821, www.friendswoodfriends.org.
