May 4 – 8, 2009

Thank You BISD Teachers - Teachers in Blanco and in communities across the nation will be recognized the week of May 4-8, 2008 during National Teacher Appreciation Week. Teacher Appreciation Day began in 1953 when Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded the 81st Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day that would serve the purpose of celebrating teachers across the nation. Parent and teacher organizations have established Teacher Appreciation Week the first full week in may of each year.

Teacher Appreciation Week is a great time to let teachers know how they have touched your’s and your children’s lives.

Very few professionals influence as many people as teachers do. National teachers week is a good time to learn about the contributions educators make to our community ever day. Teacher Appreciation Week is an opportunity for all of us to reach out and say thanks.

Special events will take place throughout the week at each campus in blanco as we take time to thank our teachers for all they do.

The activities are planned and implemented by the Blanco PTO Teacher Appreciation Committee and the vice presidents for each campus. The Blanco PTO, which covers all three campuses, is currenlty 265 families strong with increasing numbers each year.
