On Tuesday, March 4, the Texas Democratic Party will hold its Presidential Primary. This is the first time since 1988 that the votes of Texans will help decide who will be the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party for the November 4 General Election.

The competition for the nomination has been hard fought in the 29 states which have already voted. Record turnout has demonstrated the enthusiasm felt by rank and file Democratic voters for the quality of the candidates running this year. The two remaining candidates, Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama, each have strong support. As of now, they are running almost dead even in total votes cast and in delegate count.

Blanco County voters have a nearly historic opportunity to make their voices heard and their votes count. A record turnout is expected at our four polling places and in the early voting. Join millions around the country and vote in the Democratic Primary.

Early voting begins Tuesday, February 19 and runs through Friday, February 29. The polling location is at the Blanco County Courthouse, Commissioners’ Courtroom on first floor, in Johnson City. The voting times and hours are:

Weekdays – 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Saturday, February 23 – 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 24 - 11:00 A.M – 2:00 P.M.

Voting on Tuesday, March 4 will run from 7:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. and will be held at four polling locations:

Precinct 102 - Masonic Lodge, Blanco. Precinct 201 & 202 - PEC Auditorium, Johnson City. Precinct 302, 303 & 304 - Courthouse Annex, Justice of Peace Courtroom, Johnson City. Precinct 401 & 402 - Old Blanco County Courthouse, downstairs, Blanco.
